Module 3
This was a wonderful unit, I loved it. It was interesting to see how long it really had been since the WWW had been started, (even though made me feel old) It took me about 10 hours total start to finish, of course not working on it all in a single time frame. Again I really love this class, it is something that I can relate to because I have spent so much of my time the last several years(when I was working) on a computer. I am seeing with all my homework in all my classes that my kids all 4 of them can relate with me better, I LOVE IT!!! because now they see that I too have to do my home work. That is all for this week. Hope all of my class are doing great as well...mm

1st Posting
Be sure to set RULES for your children so that you and they know what is allowed and not allowed.
Tell them which sites are not "Kid Friendly"
Screen what your kids plan to post before they post it.
Ask yourself (and instruct your kids to do the same) if you are comfortable showing any of the content to a stranger.
Check out other blogs to find examples for you kids to use.
Never post anything that you would not want a stranger to see or know about you. If you are comfortable posting everything about yourself then have at it. But there is a lot of sick people out there. That look to see who their next victim will be and the more that you post about yourself the easier it is that you can become their next target.
Online Gaming: Can be loads of fun, I have been a Pogo addict for over 5 years. I love it and Slingo, however I never chat in the chats while playing, I am not a fan of that aspect. Just love the games and these 2 sites seem to be the safest as far as your personal information, and no adware etc that you would have to be concerned about.
I am really comfortable with computers, they have come a long way since I took my first computer classes years ago, I have worked with office and excel, and word quite a bit. Prior to enrolling at TVCC I have worked in the administrative field for over 6 years. And prior to that in the Health care. I just have a couple thing's that I would love to become more proficient in. I love to learn new things so I see this as enriching me...!
